John Barry has written perhaps the most romantic soundtrack ever. Somewhere in Time has long been a favourite: lush and lyrical, it's music to cuddle up by. Maybe because it's so consistent across all its tracks, veering perhaps towards the moody or ominous now and then, but still very much of a piece. Even the interloper, "Variations on a theme by Paganini", fits right in. The sweeping main theme, while it recurs often, never wears out its welcome.
